H.W. Wilson Limited is a multidisciplinary construction company with a proud history of serving local communities, public-sector organisations and commercial clients.
Established by Henry Wilson and incorporated in 1930, the company was founded on a simple principle: to provide a quality building service using an experienced local workforce.
Nearly a century later, that principle remains at the heart of our business. We combine traditional values with modern construction expertise to deliver refurbishment, maintenance, design and build, construction and bespoke joinery projects across Essex, Hertfordshire, London and the South East.

The early years
A company created to serve its community
One of the company’s earliest clients was Dr Barnardo’s, for whom H.W. Wilson constructed children’s homes across Essex.
The client base later grew to include local authorities, churches, landowners and businesses. Projects included the original Roomes Stores in Upminster and residential developments in South Ockendon.
A new generation
Traditional values taken forward
Following the retirement of the Wilson family, a management buyout in 2001 placed the company in the hands of people who had spent their working lives within the business.
That continuity allowed H.W. Wilson to expand its capabilities while retaining the quality, personal service and efficient management on which its reputation was built.

Today, H.W. Wilson provides an integrated construction service covering projects of varying sizes and complexity.
